$60 million. in a joint statement, new york governor andrew cuomo in new jersey gov. chris christie sake, the money will help their states recover, repair, and rebuilt. if they also say the money will be used to protect a region from future storms. both governors recently went to washington to lobby lawmakers for federal funds. american airlines pilots overwhelmingly approved a new labor deal it could help the company out of bankruptcy. the allied pilots association says that three-quarters of its nearly 8000 pilots voted for the agreement. the deal includes some compromises on work rules and but benefits. >> shock, sadness and anger in england this morning. a nurse treating the duchess of cambridge, kate middleton for pregnancy complications apparently took her own life. it happened after that nurse took the price call from to australia and disk jockeys. they were pretended to be queen elizabeth who wanted to check what milton. the nurse put the call through. kron 4 urs catherine heenan has the story. >> this host call was heard around the world. the host of a radio show stated tha

in the most efficient and appropriate manor. new jersey governor chris christie and andrew cuomo originally asked for about $79 billion. and even though this $60.4 billion is much less, they are thankful for president obama's commitment and the democratic senators from new york and new jersey say that this is going to be a tough fight in congress given the fiscal cliff. and some members have not been friendly to disaster relief. but the care with which this package has been putting to has given us a good head start. after hurricane katrina, the government ended up spending more than $120 billion in aid to affected areas. many lawmakers this weekend are saying they think $60.4 billion for sandy relief is a good start. rick? >> thanks very much. peter doosey in cash -- in washington. >> december 1972, and a hope to return. a private company is picking up the mission and planing to make lunar travel affordable to anyone with an extra $1.5 billion. doug mcelway has the story. >> we realize it is the stuff of science fiction. we intend to make it science fact. >> it would appear too incredible.

to trick or treat tonight. in fact, because of hurricane sandy, new jersey governor chris christie actually cancelled halloween. he tweeted this today. he said, it's just not safe yet to be out trick or treating. so, halloween has officially been postponed until monday. does he really have the authority to -- [ laughter ] -- cancel halloween? this seems very suspicious to me. especially considering the fact that he just posted this photograph on instagram. . the newark star ledger in new jersey reporting that governor chris christie is going to ask the federal government to reimburse the state for 100% of the cost of rebuilding from superstorm sandy. christie heads to washington on thursday to meet with federal officials. you know, parts of the new jersey coastline, complete devastated by this powerful storm. you know, governor christie estimates that sandy caused upwards of $20 billion of damages. >>> and the atlanta journal-constitution with more information about dozens of children and adults that were sickened by carbon monoxide poisoning at the local school there. at least 49 people were sent to the hospital yesterday. take a look at this. fire officials believe the heating system failed there. finch elementary had no carbon monoxide detectors, either. which, i guess, they're not required in georgia. and many parents complained they were left in the lurch because of poor communication. soledad o'brien will talk to a student, a parent and also a school official. so we'll get lots of sides there. >> also coming up, amazement and dismay.
